I was in at Colfax yesterday. Organized 3 piles: trash, bring home, carry off to Dave's on Saturday - oh, and a "free table" pile which I carried down to the dining room and the residents carried it off. Then I went to my 3rd therapy session. They do something different every time I go there - and a different therapist every time I go there. I really don't know if they are accomplishing anything because I feel just the same. But actually I'm not very confident there is anything they can accomplish.
I'm not looking forward to the MRI that I'm getting on Monday. Maybe I'll take 3 darvocet and knock myself out. (she chuckled alot over this). I practiced laying on my back and I can't do it anymore than 6 minutes without my back starting to hurt and I can't imagine laying there for 30 minutes. Deb, I think you are going to have to get me a doctors order for drugs.
I had supper at David's last night. Supper was real good. It was rice and a sauce that had zucchini in it. It was very good. It was nice having supper with them - and then I went to prayer meeting with them and Laurie brought me home. Laurie (Graham) is a really good friend. I love her. So it was a big day yesterday.
I tried to call NIPSCO to cut off my electricity - and how in the world - you can't talk to a person - so I'm going to have to have Kristi call to turn off the electricity. This electronic world is not for Dorothy. My generation is just lost. And I don't think I'm a singular example of it either - because all my friends feel the same way.
Speaking of my friends, I haven't set a date, but I had a visit with my friends at Colfax yesterday and I told them I"m going to have them over for lunch here. Know you all will be happy to hear that.
I brought some current pictures - like this 4 generations picture of Deb, Amy, Ty and me. Amy gave that to me. I have it setting on my dresser. I'm not going to be putting all my pictures on the wall, but I will put some up. I also love this picture of me and my children on my desk from the when Thelma was here.
I talked with LaVeta the other day and she is improving. I was happy to hear the medicine she's getting is helping her. She changed doctors - doctors is another subject I don't think we'll talk about. Her new doctor gave her a new medication and she's feeling better.
Sarah and Grace are coming to visit me today with their happy little troopers after lunch. They are taking their kids to a music thing this morning. Sarah is taking the chest of drawers if she can get it in her car.
You all check my calendar - and if you see a blank space, ya'll add your name to the calendar.
I'm turning in my keys to the apartment on the 28th. David is taking out everything Saturday that's left. I will be real happy to have that finished.
Bobbi invited me to supper tonight where Lindsay is fixing Haitian food. I wonder what that could be! I'm glad to see that Lindsay is feeling better. She had a bout with malaria. She's taking 16 pills a day of Shaklee now that Annie prescribed for her. (She was hospitalized in ICU for a few days)
I got to talk to Mike who informed me he is in California - and he sounded as clear as if he was across the road. It's amazing.
I see that today is Kevin Bonewitz's 30th birthday! Happy Birthday, Kevin! I sent that card out in yesterday's mail. Yeah, Kevin the big financier! Happy B-day.
Saturday Addy will be 3 and Sunday, Kyle will be 22. And next Tuesday Lexi will be 12 and Wednesday Steve Anderson will be 65. Steve was 23 when I met him....and he walked Bobbi down the aisle immediately afterward. I forgot to check into his background - and found out later he was a speed driver. LOL. And a fisherman. Who knew that 42 years later I'd be staying at their daughter, my granddaughter's, house.
When I met Steve, Bobbi was going to Indiana Central and she brought him home one day and said they were going to get married. Dunlap was my first teaching experience. I taught freshman English at Concord High School. And that's where Bob had his own office in the church. I had alot of help with the wedding - my neighbor next door was a real artsy kind of person - which I am not - and she pretty much did all the preparation for Bobbi's wedding - which was held at Dunlap Church. Her name was Mary. She gave Nanci piano lessons.
At Dunlap we thought we didn't have enough children so we brought in a foster daughter - a teenager named Delores. We didn't have her very long because she kept going back to her old boyfriend. Then we got a boy, can't remember his name - but he was a brain. Made our boys look like dummies. I wonder whatever happened to him. At Dunlap we had dachsunds. Mike worked at a fast food place. Deb went to 5th grade I think there - and she had her own room since Bobbi wasn't there. Dunlap was city and Robert was not made for city. They sent us down to........Royal Center? No. Lynn Grove? No. Let's see, if Mike graduated from Concord, No. (Pulling out a notebook now. Putting on her glasses. Licking a thumb and shuffling through papers. Old school christian radio playing in the background. Foot tapping. Whistling. Oh, they're really getting going now...she's nodding her head with the beat. Watch out....she might be a headbanger yet!)
I give up. (Couldn't find it) I've got all of my mom's - my mom would keep a book that had the dates and figures (the money they spent for what) and I copied all those down - and I have all that stuff, but its so scrambled that whenever I want to know anything i can't find it. So anyway, we moved from Dunlap. :) Dunlap was only a couple years. So anyway.
Well, I am going to play with my grandchildren this afternoon.
Grams.
